 20943 - The Mental Health Professional as a Tutor: Transferring the Skills of Designing a Guided Mindfulness Script to the Client $12.00
Select Format:

Formats: MP3 Download $12   |   Compact Disc $15

Presenter: Susan Von Der Haar, MSW

Michael Yapko complimented this with his reflections on the similarities between hypnosis and the practice of mindfulness in his book “Mindfulness and Hypnosis” by reminding the reader of the power of suggestion. This workshop takes the best of both Zinn and Yapko and brings to the client a strategy on how a mental health professional can facilitate a client’s ability to develop a goal oriented approach to a “guided mindfulness script” that can effectively challenge clearly identified barriers that limit their personal or professional successes.

During and at the conclusion of this session, the attendee will be able to:
-> Identify attributional and coping styles adjunct to risk tolerance;
-> Define a measurable objective clearly;
-> List the steps of self-induction, metaphor and task assignment as a post-hypnotic suggestion;
-> Record a generic script in advance of meeting with clients;
-> Develop and modify a generic template for developing a guided mindfulness script with your clients - gaining an appreciation for the power of your own personal script; and
-> Critique examples of scripts written by clients in previous workshops.
