The population of aging adults has increased exponentially and will continue to grow. For a variety of reasons, most oral health professionals and dental public health programs have not addressed elders' concerns. This course will discuss some of the unique characteristics of older adults critical to addressing elders' concerns. The instructor will discuss oral health of elders from the individual's perspective as well as from the providers' and public health programs perspective. With focused strategies, we can assist today?s elders, as well as those in the future, in maintaining good oral health.
