To create effective codes and standards that protect lives, NFPA relies on the democratic procedures of its codes and standards development process. The Committee Leadership Conference (CLC) will show NFPA technical committee officers how to carry out their duties and responsibilities. The CLC is open to anyone who wishes to attend, but committee members are required to attend one of these sessions.

Maureen Brodoff, Vice President and General Counsel with the National Fire Protection Association in Quincy, MA. Maureen has worked in private practice and in the public sector as an appellate public defender and as an Assistant Attorney General in the Office of the Massachusetts Attorney General. In 1992 she became Associate General Counsel of the National Fire Protection Association and since 2002 she has served as Vice President and General Counsel where her primary focus has been on standards-related issues.

Amy Beasley Cronin is the Division Manager of NFPA Codes and Standards Administration and Secretary to the Standards Council in Quincy, MA. She has been with the NFPA for 14 years. Prior to NFPA, Amy worked for the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) as a research engineer. She graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Chemical Engineering, and a Masters of Engineering Management from Western New England College.

Jim Pauley, PE, is Vice President - Industry and Government Relations for Schneider Electric (Square D). He has been with them for more than 24 years. Prior to Square D, Mr. Pauley was self-employed as an electrical contractor. He serves as chair of the NFPA Standards Council and is on a number of NFPA technical committees. Jim also serves as vice president and officer to the ANSI Board of Directors. He is past chair of the ANSI Executive Standards Council, a board member of the IEEE Standards Association and a US technical advisor to IEC TC 64 - Electrical Installations in Buildings. He is active with the National Electrical Manufacturers Association, Underwriters Laboratories, Inc., and the International Association of Electrical Inspectors.
