Incorrectly identifying air and nitrogen can have devastating effects on life and property. Understanding best practices in controlling this potential issue can save lives. This session will provide you with safety ideas, and discuss the importance of ensuring air and nitrogen sources are clearly identified and effectively controlled to prevent possible cross-contamination issues during operational and maintenance activities. You will hear about the controls used to successfully manage this condition at Dow Corning, a global specialty chemicals company.

James Haiser Jr. is a Corporate Safety Consultant for Dow Corning Corporation where he has worked for 18 years. In his current role, he represents 12 manufacturing sites globally and leads the hazardous awareness process for the corporation. Haiser received a Master's degree in Organizational Leadership and Administration from Saginaw Valley State University following his undergraduate's degree. He is a Michigan State licensed EMT, and a Technical Committee Member on NFPA's 51B Hot Work Standard.
