Post-fire surveys of destroyed and damaged buildings have indicated that ember entry through vents have resulted in ignitions. This session will summarize the results of experiments conducted at the Insurance Institute for Business & Home Safety Research Center to evaluate the vulnerability of attic and foundation vents to the entry of wind-blown embers.
