Description:
In today's economy the demand for direct restorations has dramatically increased. Patients are demanding options which are more affordable, yet esthetic. Many new tooth-colored restorative materials have been designed for optimized physical and optical qualities. However, no single material universally satisfies the needs of our patients. The astute clinician must be knowledgeable about all the available materials when treatment planning and understand the techniques necessary to produce consistent results. Given ample time, moisture control, appropriate size, and a cooperative patient, excellent results can be achieved with composite restorations. However, composite materials have limitations creating the need for alternative esthetic restorative materials suitable for use in less than ideal conditions. Discover materials that simplify ease of use, reduce post-operative sensitivity and reduce potential recurrent decay. This course is an excellent way to update your treatment skills and increase your skills in placing direct tooth-colored restorations.

Learning objectives:
Participants will be able to:

  • Learn how to select and place the proper restorative material for any situation
  • Develop the skills to achieve predictable, reliable Class II interproximal contacts
  • Understand the rationale for selecting Class V restorative materials
  • Manage patients with rampant decay through new caries detection and preparation procedures
  • Become acquainted with the many types of direct tooth-colored restorations
