At a time of increasing Administrative Capability and Program Integrity requirements, a Financial Aid Office can no longer be "an island unto itself" on a campus. We must work cooperatively with other campus units to help students access higher education while also keeping our institutions compliant with ever-changing regulations. How involved are you with recruiting events and activities with your Admissions Office? Retention activities? How involved are you with training and updating other departments (and faculty) on your campus regarding the basics of financial aid? Do they know too much? Not enough? Do they give wrong advice to students that causes difficulty for your office? This session will highlight topics that are being planned for a faculty/staff "Financial Aid Basics" on our campus. This workshop has also been presented as an interest session at a state-level conference of Registrars and Admissions Officers.
