23648 - JOWBR & The Genealogical Value of Jewish Burial Records $10.95
Select Format:

Nolan Altman

The presentation will start with familiarizing attendees with the origin and importance of naming patterns. We’ll go step by step through JewishGen’s JOWBR database as the central source for Jewish burial records. Next, we’ll review how to read a Jewish headstone and give examples of symbols as well as inscriptions. Finally, we’ll look at unusual headstones, some creative and others just plain funny. I’ll also discuss JewishGen’s Memorial Plaque Project and show how attendees can help to grow the databases.
