Select Format:

Format: Download Slides with Synchronized Audio - MP4 Video File $9

Presenter: Michal Majewski

Sources documenting the history of Jewish families from Poland are scattered all over the world. They can be found in many countries, including Israel, Russia and the United States. Thousands of pages of archival documentation can be found also in the Polish archives, libraries, memorial rooms, and museums. Many of them are available on-line, but not all. Presenting stories of one particular family, the Wislicki family, I will show how to begin research in Poland, what kind of institutions are holding the most value materials, what are the obstacles and how to overcome them. One family, some memories, hundreds of documents.
