Delivering Compassionate Connected Nursing Care Despite the challenges associated with high sitter hours and other resource requirements for meeting the needs of high-acuity patients, the Neuro/Trauma Unit at St. Mary?s Hospital embarked on a multidisciplinary transformation to better facilitate the delivery of compassionate, connected care to all of its patients. The effort focused on removing barriers and accountability roadblocks, as well as preconceptions the physician partners had about the unit.
