No regulatory update would be complete without spending time on the perennial favorite: R2T4. Schools struggle to determine exactly how much of the funds they extended to a student were actually earned when the student leaves before the semester is over. The rules determining the separation date are quite clear, but schools are often stymied when it comes to nailing it down on their campus. This session will address the many issues related to this topic. Under what conditions must financial aid be returned? How do you determine when a student was last enrolled? When must required returns be made? Do the returned funds come from the student or the school?
