To achieve a more patient-centric approach, the industry must first consider that the patient experience is inherently one of fear and anxiety. To truly become patient-centered, we must understand, identify and address sources of patient suffering across the care continuum. Press Ganey has developed a framework to deconstruct suffering across clinical, operational, cultural and behavioral dimensions that influence the patient experience every day, in every care setting, with every provider. This session will introduce the suffering construct and define the underlying dimensions of the framework. Participants will gain an understanding of how these dimensions can inform actionable improvement plans to address patient suffering.
