PEDIATRIC DENTISTRY / CE CREDITS 2

Pediatric dentistry is the practice of dentistry for children, defined from birth to eighteen years of age.  Though the specialty defines the age, the profession in general previously has recommended the child have their first dental visit around 3 years of age.  In 1985 the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry included policy that the child's first dental visit occurs at 1 year of age.  In 1966 the speaker began lecturing on the subject, "Dentistry: Birth to Three", recommending a child should first be seen at 1 year of age or when 8 teeth had erupted, whichever comes first.  In 2004, the speaker initiated his life long dream limiting his practice to "Infants, Toddlers, and Preschoolers."  Included are children with special needs, compromising illnesses and excessive anxiety surrounding the dental visit.  In one year he built a new practice within an already very large active pediatric dental practice.

Dr. Schneider has a dental degree from Emory University; Resident program in pediatric dentistry at Aidmore Children’s Hospital and has a private practice in Jacksonville, Florida.
