Undocumented students rarely have a role in the decision to come to this country. They are usually brought to this country by their parents or relatives. Many have spent more years in the United States than in their country of origin. As these children move through our education system, they become students, athletes, student leaders, and aspiring professionals. The majority of these young people are unable to access higher education and even if they do, they are not legally able to obtain employment upon graduation. As financial aid professionals it is important to be able to advise these students (and others with unique residency issues) about the resources available to them
