Creating a Culture for Sustainable Change
The University of Michigan Health System began measuring employee engagement in 2013. This vast change-management effort required a high degree of coordination and cooperation across many functional divisions. More than 250 survey ambassadors and 590 leaders were trained to promote employee participation and access and interpret their work units? results. Through the concerted effort, the organization?s survey participation rate improved by 12% to a historical high, and more than 70% of work units developed an improvement plan based on the survey findings.
