John Burgess, DDS, MS

Ceramic materials are durable esthetic restorations, but combining material selection with cement use is critical in their durability. This clinically oriented course compares new materials and evaluates their clinical success as well as providing new insights on which ceramic should be used in a particular situation. Different classes of ceramic materials are compared and advantages of each system are given to reduce ceramic failures. Can ceramics be abraded with alumina oxide or will this cause premature failure? Are all ceramic etchants the same or can some be more effective than others? See which ceramic should be bonded and which can be effectively cemented, as well as reasonable lifetimes for ceramic restorations. The presentation is designed as a clinical update. Clinical success with different adhesives, ceramic materials and cements will be demonstrated. This information can be used your next day in clinic
