 28935 - A Y-DNA Haplogroup Project $9.00
Select Format:

Format: Download Slides with Synchronized Audio - MP4 Video File $9

Presenter: Sidney Sachs

Since most Ashkenazi Jews did not have surnames until about 225 years ago, testing the Y chromosome allows one to trace their paternal line further back and to find cousins. The best way of doing this after being Y-DNA markers tested is by joining the proper haplogroup project. This talk is about how to find the right project and if there is none, how to start one. The speaker will use as a sample the haplogroup project he started ten years ago. Within the project, there were several rare type of mutations that caused the testing company to miss people on the members' match list.
