Bonita Nathan Sussman will share an over view on Dr. Tudor Parfitt's research on genetic testing of the Lemba of Zimbabwe and the Gogodala Tribe of Papua New Guinea. It will show a clip of Professor Parfitt's TED talk on the subject. Rabbi Gerald Sussman will speak about the returning Lost Tribe phenomenon and other traditions of Jewish ancestry that have led to the adoption of Jewish practice and speculate as to why this is occurring in this time in history. Panelist Esther Rodriguez, a convert to Judaism and a descendant of Anousim from Cuba will open the results for the first time of her genetic testing and describe the difference a positive or negative result will have on her Jewish identity.
