Abstract
While most Advance Practice Nurses (APNs) provide expert clinical care, there are other facets of the role which may escape our notice. Clinician is often the role facet we are "hired" to perform. Yet our well-meaning administrators require knowledge regarding the other skill sets APNs possess. This session will discuss creative ideas for negotiating time and resources of consulting, teaching, research and advocacy.

1. Define the “other” role of practice for the advanced practice nurse (APN).
2. Discuss creative ideas for negotiating the time and resources required to pursue other aspects of the APN role.
