Presenter: David Wark, PhD

When people act together in synchrony they may also experience an emotional connection. Indeed, there is evidence that synchrony and empathy act in a circular pattern. For the professional, high empathy between the helper and patient/client may increase the impact of therapeutic or treatment suggestions. And in the nontherapeutic world, empathy between co workers or family members can lead to better outcomes from interactions. Participants in this workshop will learn (1) eyes open alert hypnosis techniques to increase empathy between themselves and their client/patients, and (2) techniques to teach that skill to others.

During and at the conclusion of this session, the attendee will be able to:
-> Induce alert eyes open self-hypnosis using a technique presented in the workshop;
-> Formulate suggestions to increase empathic connections with patient/clients; and
-> Teach patient/clients to induce their own alert self-hypnosis.
