Presenter: Joanna Krol

Oral history resources might be an useful tool to discover your family history. Different methodologies can be used depends on who is your interviewee - a relative, a neighbor, a history witness from your region. Using selected examples, chosen from the POLIN Museum of the History of Polish Jews collection, as well as other Polish oral history archives presented at POLIN's Resource Center (The KARTA Center in Warsaw, The "Grodzka Gate - NN Theatre" Center, Emigration Museum in Gdynia), I would like to discuss different oral history approaches in Jewish genealogy research, ethical dimension of such research and technical issues related to organizing oral history archives at your home. I hope you will find it inspirational, especially if you would like to publish your results worldwide: share it in new media or transfer into public area for various purposes.
