NASDAQ OMX has a compensation policy that reflects their values of transparency and pay-for-performance. But the automated compensation process didn't meet management's needs. It was difficult for managers to use, better reporting was required and changes needed better control. The resulting effort improved the user interface and streamlined the process for line-level managers. Subsequently, the needs of Finance, HR and senior management were addressed. By applying creativity and eliciting teamwork, NASDAQ OMX planned a process that reflected the company's strategy and values.
