Memorializing and learning about our ancestral hometowns is key to understanding our past. This program will discuss the methodology and benefits of creating a research group and cyberspace memorial to the vanished world of our ancestors (including immigrant neighbourhoods). Valuable resources for our descendants are provided through webpages and research groups dedicated to Jewish communities that no longer exist. This presentation does not focus only on the Jewish Communities of Eastern Europe. The same principle of commemorating Jewish communities from different parts of the world, Sephardic, Mizrachi communities and old Jewish neighbourhoods applies and some examples are given to demonstrate this. During this presentation various topics will be discussed and demonstrated in depth: - Techniques for reaching out to your landsmen /people researching the same town or area - How to create newsletters - How to organize research projects and share information.
