This program will illustrate the successful techniques used for more than 15 years to teach genealogical methodology and procedures to kids ages 10-13 by Daniel Horowitz with his project ?Searching for My Roots?. Daniel is eager to share his methodology and strategies to provide an excellent learning experience to covers all the issues, subjects and items that genealogical research must include and the activities and methods to be followed in order to collect information from and about family members (living or dead). Subjects include: interviews, geography, statistics, history, pictures, documents, objects, songs, tombstones, last name origins, coats of arms, etc. The program will include examples of kids works with explanations, pictures, graphics, maps, photos, items used in the teaching process, etc. This is an exciting panel for teachers, librarians and anyone interested in involving children in digging up their roots.
