Dr. Sean Martin, Associate Curator of Jewish History at Western Reserve Historical Society (WRHS), will review the holdings of the Cleveland Jewish Archives at WRHS. The Jewish Archives, established in cooperation with community support from the Jewish Federation in 1976, include materials from the foundation of the community in 1839 to the early twenty-first century. The collection is used often by genealogists, community institutions, and academic researchers seeking to learn more about relatives, local history, and national and international topics. The Jewish Archives has collaborated with local partners on special projects, including publications, oral histories, and exhibits, in an effort to teach others about the rich history of the Jewish community in northeastern Ohio.
