Last year in Warsaw, on behalf of LitvakSIG, I announced the launch of an ambitious project to extract the Jewish records in the Vilnius household registers (1919-1940). There are an estimated million Jewish records in this collection. As of January 18, 2019, we have released 15,000 lines of data, with another 15,000 (or more) expected by the time of the Cleveland conference. This presentation will serve as an introduction to the project for those unfamiliar with it, and will also explore what we have learned from the data so far.
