Census records are the focus of this workshop. The important basic information offered and their value as evidence will be presented. The manner in which they can lead to more knowledge, including social history information, will be discussed. Search strategies for elusive records will be discussed. Census records provide the first step in gathering information to do research in other countries. Therefore, this session will also include the impact of name changes as well as the changing borders of Eastern Europe to help discover potential heritage locations.
