This presentation examines the main sources of Latvian genealogical material and also important secondary sources that are often forgotten but may also yield rich treasure troves of data. This is illustrated by tracing the migration of my family from approximately 1750 in Liepaja (Latvia), to New York, Mississippi, South Africa, Israel, France, and Canada. It also examines the material from archives visited in Latvia, ITS at Paderborn, Yad Vashem, The Washington Holocaust Museum and the Family History Library at Salt Lake City. Furthermore it reviews the many internet resources and social networks visited. It traces the search that led to meaningful relationships with cousins who survived Bergen Belsen as well as extended family in Latvia, Israel, USA, France, Australia, Ireland and Canada. The search and methodology is illustrated by the use of Power Point.
