The Cleveland Fire Department collaborated with the Cleveland Municipal School District to develop a highly successful after-school fire safety and tutoring program. In its first year, the program reached 4,000 children with the fundamentals of kitchen and fire safety. Fire runs during peak after-school hours have been reduced and the relationship between the fire department and the community has been strengthened. This session will outline key elements in the development, implementation, and evaluation of a after-school fire safety program.
