Presenter: Mary McKee

In Ireland in the 19th century, the Irish Reproductive Loan fund was created to advance the working poor of West Ireland. This talk looks at the records held by The National Archives and digitised by Findmypast which tell the stories of thousands of Irish men and women. Thousands signed up for the loans; however, not all completed payments due to starvation, death, and migration.
