NewYork?Presbyterian Queens successfully improved provider and patient experience by focusing on the idea that ?Good Communication is Good Medicine.? By partnering with Press Ganey Transformational Advisory Services and the Academy of Communication in Healthcare (ACH), the organization trained 20 coaches in the techniques learned from the ACH and created a strategy to improve communication between physicians, PAs, and their patients and families through a practice known as collegial direct observation. This session?s presenter will share details of the study, including the use of direct observations in exam rooms, quantitative data analysis, and peer coaching.
