MedStar Health is a large, integrated health care system with 10 acute care hospitals and 280+ ambulatory treatment sites. MedStar began its High Reliability journey in 2013 by leveraging the HRO tools developed by Press Ganey/HPI. Attend this session to learn how MedStar?s HRO commitment, practical use of HRO tools, and innovative safety event review approach changed the delivery of care by assessing hazards in new locations and using an empathetic approach to associate injuries. MedStar will use a case study to demonstrate how familiar tools are modified to implement change without adding significant time commitments.
