This session will provide you with an overview of the electrical requirements of Articles 690 on Photovoltaics, 625 for Electric Vehicles, and 694 for Wind Turbines. The 2011 NEC requires that only qualified personnel install photovoltaic and wind power installations. Learn more about calculations, overcurrent protection requirements, and overcurrent protection device location installations for photovoltaics, electric vehicle charging stations, and wind generators.

Mark C. Ode is a Senior Engineering Instructor at Underwriters Laboratories Inc. based in the UL University in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina for three years and was a former member of UL's Regulatory Services Department for ten years.  He was a Senior Electrical Specialist for the National Fire Protection Association for nine years. He is a former staff liaison and secretary to the NFPA Electrical Equipment in Chemical Atmospheres Committee. He was the Executive Secretary for the NFPA Electrical Section and editor of the Electrical Section news bulletin, Current Flashes. He is an alternate member of NEC Panel 3 for the 2002, 2005, 2008 and 2011 NEC and was principle member of Panel 4 for the 2002, 2005, 2008 NEC. He was a principle member of Panel 13 for the 2011 NEC. He was an alternate on the NEC Technical Correlating Committee for the 2005, 2008, and 2011 NEC.  He is a Contributing Code Editor for Electrical Contractor magazine and has written a monthly article for the magazine since January 2000.
