Hypnotic Treatment of Asthma in Children and Adults: New Techniques and Outcomes
Dabney Ewin, MD; Tony Madrid, PhD; Ran D. Anbar, MD

Audio Sample:

Dr. Ewin will present his technique of regressing adult asthmatics to the first time breathing was too important (they usually go to birth or perinatal illness) with script for reframing, and some case reports with follow-up. Dr. Madrid will present controlled studies of the relationship of childhood asthma to failure of maternal-infant bonding, and his technique of hypnotizing only the mother to produce a new bonding scenario that results in the child improving or being cured. The younger the child, the more effective this protocol is, and it doesn't work well after puberty. Dr. Anbar will discuss the criteria for a diagnosis of asthma from the point of view of a pediatric pulmonologist, and whether or not we are kidding ourselves.

At the conclusion of this session, participants should be able to…

- Recognize the importance of lack of maternal-infant bonding in childhood asthma.
- Know the technique of repairing the maternal-infant bond by treating the mother.
- Know the technique of reframing an anoxic birth for an adult asthmatic.
