This course will review the three main approaches of antibiotics, antifungals and DNA antivirals: membrane impairment, ribosomal impairment, and DNA impairment. The instructor will discuss most of the available antibiotics, antifungals, and antivirals for dental use. In this course suggested doses, the advantages and disadvantages of each medication, and ?tricks? that can optimize the success of the patient?s infection control will be given. This is a summary lecture that will give the attendee ?everything needed? to be a competent prescriber of medications beyond amoxicillin and clindamycin.
