In 2030, where do you see historic preservation in your community? New York
City preservationists asked that question and have embarked upon
Preservation Vision NYC, a yearlong effort to imagine the role preservation
could play in 2030 and to identify the actions needed to achieve that vision.
Building on a new awareness of the Big Apple’s preservation history, Preservation Vision NYC offers a process that could help preservationists in other cities plan for the future.

Anthony C. Wood, author of Preserving New York and chair of the Preservation Vision Steering Committee, will lead the discussion about Preservation Vision’s inception, methodology, and progress to date along with Project Director Kirstin Sechler of Minerva Partners and Anne Van Ingen, the director of Architecture, Planning and Design at the New York State Council on the Arts. It’s time to think creatively about what the future holds for preservation in your community, so join us for lunch and a lively discussion about New York’s vision for the coming decades.
