The session will explain how the FIRTS project in Argentina relates local fire and other incident reports into a national statistical database. The project, with the support and sponsorship of NFPA, was developed with a multi-stakeholder group, and integrated by NFPA Argentina Chapter, National Technological University, and National Council Voluntary Firefighter Association. This paper will show the scope of the project, methodology applied, and challenges and results. We will analyze the opportunities to leverage this experience to other Latin American countries.

Nestor H Sposito, Project Manager of Dow Arg., President of Argentina NFPA Chapter, member of Senior Expert Group of the APELL Process UNEP, is a chemical engineer with a post graduated specialization in Safety and Hygiene . He is an NFPA member. Mr. Sposito is the author of many technical papers, publications, and speeches on Process Safety, Emergency Preparedness and APELL Process.
