Chemical catastrophes resulting in significant loss of life and property seem to be increasing in occurrence. There are numerous NFPA codes that have been developed to prevent these types of incidents and to protect emergency responders and the surrounding community when they do occur. This session will highlight the key NFPA standards used to prevent and respond to chemical catastrophes and will demonstrate the application of these standards using a mock chemical facility and community.
