A critical skill that teens don't usually acquire in school is how to cook safely to prevent devastating fires and injuries. Most teens already have some cooking responsibilities at home and within a few short years will be moving out on their own--making the teen years a perfect time for them to learn the basics of safe cooking. Focusing on the leading causes of kitchen fires, this presentation will highlight the importance of working with target audiences when developing fire safety programs and will show fire service educators how to implement a fire safety program for teens in their community.
