Bath Township Fire Department and Ford Motor Company Lima Engine Plant have a model of response planning that can fit any size need, from the local pizza shop or public library, to a manufacturing facility of any size. Our success is measured in life safety for employees and first responders, and by preservation of property and assets, plus business resumption planning. In a sense, we are business partners, with all the right tools to make it work. This presentation talks candidly about the difficulties in developing a relationship between the local fire department and business. When so much is at stake; why is the fear still present and what does it take to open the gates to the fire department and other responding agencies? What we did to erase the fear and build a relationship of honesty and respect, and how anyone can make it work.
