Electrical safety work practices is an important topic that is addressed by NFPA 70E, Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace. The NFPA 70E Technical Committee has identified research needs to study broad trends in electrical injury and better understand critical factors in electrical injury events, including how they occurred, prevailing safety practices, and the use of personal protection equipment. This presentation reviews current NFPA 70E requirements, summarizes research findings to date, and examines potential future directions the standard might take.
