Description:

This course is designed to provide the oral health care team contemporary information regarding recognition of "dry mouth" and causes of hyposalivation. Signs, symptoms and tests for detecting oral dryness will be reviewed. Useful chairside techniques and oral health questions will be shared that can be easily integrated into clinical practice. The dental team will be encouraged to take a proactive role in diagnosing and managing this challenging condition due to the adverse impact on health and quality of life.

  • Identify dry mouth in your patients
  • Determine the cause: what to look for and what questions to ask
  • Take a proactive role to prevent and/or reduce complications: how to manage/treat dry mouth
