This course will address the proper classification of individuals that work for the roofing contractor as either an employee or independent contractor. The Department of Labor and many state governments are focusing on the construction industry's misclassification of workers, as this affects the tax base. This program will help roofing contractors avoid liability by instructing the contractors on the tests to determine the proper classification.

Learning Objectives:

  • Recognize the issue of misclassification in the industry
  • Inform the audience of those factors that tend to show an employment relationship
  • Identify factors that tend to show an independent contractor relationship
