Format: Download Slides with Synchronized Audio - MP4 Video File $9

Presenter: Logan Kleinwaks

GenealogyIndexer.org is a free website where you can search more than a million pages of historical European directories (business, address, telephone), Yizkor books, Polish and Russian military documents, community and personal histories, Galician secondary school reports, and more. Containing many millions of personal names - often with towns, street addresses, and occupations, and sometimes with vital dates or patronymics - this huge collection is mostly comprised of data not searchable elsewhere. This talk will provide an overview of the more than 2,000 sources, with a focus on newly added sources and new search functionality. The use of directories in the recently-announced restitution process for Warsaw properties will also be discussed briefly. Recipient of the IAJGS 2012 Award for Outstanding Contribution to Jewish Genealogy via the Internet and one of Family Tree Magazine's 101 Best Websites for 2015 and 2016.
