There are many roofing material and system warranties available in the marketplace and understanding the differentiators between these offerings is important for both the roofing contractor and the building owner. Many have claimed "a piece of paper" won't keep water out of a building and they are correct! Understanding, though, what's actually provided through that piece of paper is important as well as understanding and avoiding common mistakes that can make a warranty ineffective and perhaps, even null and void.

For roofing contractors, there is a burden on the front end so that they confidently know they will be able to provide what the building owner expects at the successful completion of a project. Is the roofing system eligible for the warranty expected? Are there any special warranty condtions that need to be included? What happens when the owner has their own warranty separate from the manufacturer's warranty?

This session will illustrate key components of warranties, how to identify differences and critical requirements, and how to navigate the warranty landscape.
