The Rational Ecstasy workshop examines spiritual/religious beliefs in the hypnotherapeutic community, We?ll spend some time expressing and examining how our underlying paradigms shape our work, and how they affect our client relationships. We?ll explore how to elicit information from your client ? either before booking or during a session.

If your practice involves spiritual language or practices, are you screening before sessions begin? This might be important if, for example, you specialize in ?entity release? or ?past-life regression.? If it doesn?t seem critical, you could still be risking rapport by just barreling on in your personal style without checking in. (We can swap stories about the kinds of sessions that teach you not to make assumptions.)

As one of the only 5% of Americans who identify as atheist*, I have spent some time reconciling my own dedication to the awesome, mysterious power of the mind with discomfort at not fitting in with our generally spiritual community. I CAN?T serve only clients who share my views.

I?ll then share my own ?Belonging in the Universe? session, leading the group in a deep relaxation session based on science, science fiction and the musings of philosopher Blaise Pascal.

Although I?m not spiritual, clients DO have spiritual experiences in our sessions. Let?s discover together how we create neutral, beautiful playgrounds of imagination.
