Origin Matrix Analysis: A Systematic Methodology for Post-Fire Investigation and Analysis of Compartment Fires
Andrew Cox, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF)

Format: Audio MP3 Download: $18
Audio Compact Disc: $23

Correctly investigating and identifying an area of fire origin is an extremely complex process. When compartment fires transition from pre-flashover, fuel-controlled conditions to post-flashover, ventilation-controlled conditions, dramatic changes occur in the principles that govern the location and extent of the fire damages generated. This session will explore the factors contributing to fire damage, especially the effects of ventilation, and provide a systematic framework -- an 'Origin Matrix Analysis' -- for considering such factors during the course of an origin analysis.
