With the widespread use of OSB as a cost-effective alternative to plywood for roof decking in commercial warehouse construction, there is some evidence to suggest that mechanically attached, single-ply roof systems over OSB roof decking may encounter performance issues related to fastener withdrawal. This presentation will explore examples of wind and pressure-related failures of single-ply roof systems. It will also cover fastener performance in both OSB and Plywood, design and installation best practices for successful roof installations over wood decks and proper remediation considerations when problems are encountered.
