5G involves higher frequency communication signals for new wireless technologies and plans are to install it worldwide. Millions of new 4G/5G antennas will be installed within our residential neighborhoods and close to schools. 42,000 low-orbit satellites will broadcast these waves from space. All this is for a wireless worldwide web and an ?internet of things? that will forever change Earth?s electromagnetic environment. Yet there are serious concerns about the lack of safety standards; the growing problem of electrosensitivity; wireless radiation as a causal factor in cancer; exposure of vulnerable populations; environmental impact; and lack of affordable instrumentation to monitor our exposure. In this presentation, you will learn what 5G entails; how it can impact our health and the environment; the political issues; and practical ways in which you can protect yourself. Dr. Rubik will especially focus on the scientific evidence for negative health and environmental effects. She will also demonstrate use of a low-cost meter to measure wireless radiation.
