Creating a Culture for Sustainable Change
How can an emergency department move the needle on patient perception of care with no additional financial resources, a 20% vacancy rate, a mismatched supply and demand for inpatient beds resulting in patient boarding more than 100 days out of the year, and the addition of a freestanding ED at a second location? Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Rockwell overcame these obstacles through vertical and horizontal organizational alignment and accountability, physician and nursing collaboration and transparency of data. Learn about the strategies that allowed the team to move the ED?s patient perception of care ranking from the 24th percentile to the 99th percentile.
